    2. How much does it cost?

      SourceSafe Addin version 1.xx is completely free. However, If you like this program, you can make a donation via
      PayPal. This would allow me to cover some of the costs involved in developing and maintaining the software (internet access, equipment, etc.). Especially if you are using SourceSafe Addin in a commercial environment please consider this option so these programs can continue to be free in the future.

    6. What is SourceOffSite?

      SourceOffsite is a program which allows remote working with SourceSafe, without running the risks of the SourceSafe repository being corrupted when there are network problems. For more details visit SourceGear's Web site at

    7. What has SourceSafe Addin been tested with?

      • Visual SourceSafe 6.0c (SP6)
      • Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server as clients
      • Tested with SourceSafe Integration in Visual Studio 98, Visual Studio.NET 2002 and Visual Studio.NET 2003
      • SourceSafe has been Tested with Sourcegear's SourceOffSite 3.5.3. This works without any problems, although remote users do not get notification that the disk with SourceSafe on is out of disk space. Only users on the same LAN as the SourceOffSite server get notification. However, if there is a way to tell SourceOffSite itself that there is a disk space problem then please let me know. Auto-Update does work with SourceOffSite, but the new version will not be active until SourceOffSite has been restarted.
      • SourceSafeAddin has ONLY been tested with a permanent connection to the internet.

    8. What does the Project Name $Archive: $ Mean?

      When the 'Expand Keywords' feature of SourceSafe is enabled then $Archive: $ is expanded to the path within sourcesafe that the file is stored.

      Other keywords that SourceSafe Addin Uses are :

      $Author: $ Sourcesafe username of user last updated the file
      $Date: $ When the file was last updated in SourceSafe.

    9. How do I change the Date Format to the one I use

      The following Date formats are supported by setting the DateFormat value in the [CommentSettings] TSSrcSafeAddin.ini:

      DateFormat Value Meaning
      0 Use DD/MM/YYYY. This is the default
      1 Use MM/DD/YYYY
      2 Use YYYY/MM/DD

      However you need version 1.0 Build 10 or later for this setting to work.
